Waltham, 19th March 2010; Mass Premier Soccer is delighted to announce two standout players from the MPS Premier Team program have been named to the USL Super-Y League Select Team.
Nico Pascual-Leone (MPS U15 Bulldogs) and Bianca Calderone (MPS U17 Renegades) were named to the ’94 Boys and ’93 Girls SYL ODP respective teams after standout performances at the recent 2010 SYL ODP National Camp held in Tampa, FL.
“We would like to congratulate Nico and Bianca for being honored on this list of standout players from SYL clubs from across the nation,” said MPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley. “This honor is a reward for their continued hard work. Both players are graduates from the MPS School of Excellence program and are outstanding role models for the younger players in our club.”
The Super Y-League ODP system was started in 2003 to recognize a pool of players in each age group for identification to U.S. National Team Programs; and to utilize the clubs system in the United States to identify players. The top players selected by the scouting system in each age group (per geographic division of the Super Y-League) attend the ODP National Camp. These camps are attended by U.S. National Staff Coaches, to identify players for U.S. National Team Programs, as well as many of the nation’s top collegiate coaches. The camps are typically held in Florida during February and March.
