Testimonials

"I am currently studying sport development and coaching at Bournemouth University and undertaking my placement year at MPS.  This is the ideal place to work as a student and learn about how a business is run on a day to day basis. I work in the finance office but also help with a lot of other departments.  As an MPS staff member there is a lot of responsibility that you have to take on and be trusted to meet deadlines
I also coach a range of age groups from 5 – 14, both boys and girls, working on a daily basis with an experienced MPS coach. As part of my placement program the Director of Coaching and senior staff coaches run Staff Education session to help me develop as a coach" - Shaun Bowden, School of Excellence and Camps Coach, MPS Placement Student.

"I am beginning my third year at MPS and it has provided me skills on and off the field. I have developed as a coach due to confidence and the help provided by other more experienced coaches at MPS. The technical department has always provided interesting material to use in terms of sessions and other information that is important to know when coaching i.e. injury prevention. In my short time here I have seen MPS make positive steps in the right direction.
MPS has a strong family atmosphere between the coaches, players and their families. The host families I have stayed with have contributed to the great experience I have had here.
The ability of the players really surprised me when I first arrived at MPS, it was a lot better than I had imagined. I have really enjoyed being part of a club using a (proven) European model in America. I strongly agree with and support the MPS ethos of player development, giving kids the confidence, skills and that little bit extra to make them the best they can be. The ability of some of the SOE players I have worked with is on a par with young players I have seen play at English academies." - Jack Abelson, School of Excellence and Camps Coach.

"Interning at Mass Premier Soccer was an exceptional learning experience that taught me a lot about various different roles in an organization. I wanted to intern with MPS because the program is very successful and known throughout all of New England. Having played in the Maple league all my life, it was interesting to see how the club ran differently from the club that I had played for when I was younger.  Going into this internship I thought it was going to be a lot different. I started off working primarily in the marketing department which was something that I thought I wanted to pursue my career in. I learned how a business runs and about all the different departments it entails. How creating a good business plan and sticking by it is very important and with MPS having a plan of hiring international coaches from different countries to come over and work for them. They come in with a great knowledge of the game and bring new and practical input on how the game is played and what to do to improve the players and organization. I was working on a computer most of the time at MPS and with that I did learn a great deal about how to use different programs on the computer and master them. I can now say that I could go into any business and work on a computer and excel in anything they give to me. Working for a high end soccer program such as this one was a great experience and I learned how international employees work and their experiences in their home countries. This internship showed me that I do not want to sit at a computer all day; however I do want to work for a company like this one because of my passion for the sport. Doing many different projects for different departments taught me a lot about the business and what goes into each one. I did a great deal of researching on different clubs around the area and comparing them with MPS to see how we match up to them and getting new ideas for the program. Working in every department helped me to realize everything that actually goes into the business all together. Being a part of the organization and helping out in everything was a great experience." - Elise McLear, MPS Intern

"After joining MPS in the spring of 2008 I have spent 2 great years working for the company. During this time I have developed my skills as a coach, and have learnt a lot from senior members of staff such as Darren Gallagher and Pete Bradley.
I have had the opportunity to work with a number of age groups and ability levels, from U9 School of excellence, and more recently players in the U16 Premier program. Within my time at MPS I have grown to take on more challenges and responsibility and am eager to continue my development as a coach." - Chris Waugh, School of Excellence and Camps Coach
